Got these in hope they would be wearable with my "Happy Feet toe alignment" socks. I love these socks, but dislike when I need to walk around the house with them. Have several dogs and cats (pet hair) and not so clean floors at times (rural environment). And I'm glad to say that this style of birks are working with these socks. A little tight on the toe strap, not bad, but may have to punch another hole. So far, seem pretty comfortable right off the bat. Maybe will be even better, once broke in. They say it's okay to break them in with socks. We'll see. With the adjustable straps, plan to wear with or without socks eventually. I wear a woman's 9.5 shoe and got the 9-9.5 normal size (40). Toe area good, seems to conform to my arches really well (have somewhat high arches), but my heel (with sock) fits right to heel cup, little to no space at back. Not sure if that will be okay or not. But I really like the deep heel cup since I have problems with plantar fasciitis in one foot, with heel pain most days. Hoping the toe alignment socks, along with the birk's foot shaping, will help me with this problem. Happy with purchase so far. Most I've ever paid for sandals.
