WOW! what a great book that really hit home for me. My daughter loves the outdoors as much as her father (my husband) and & I, but her iPad dings with multiple requests from her friends to play online with them every day. my husband and & I have realized there is a time and place for technology, but one place we make sure we are “device” free is on trips with family and friends. We are taking our 2nd annual friend’s trip to cover Colorado and New Mexico this June. We were in Nevada, Colorado and Utah last June with the same 3 families from last year. My one request to those families was to not have our children bring their “devices”. Some of them were a little resistant to my request. After 8 days of having some of the best adventures we’ve ever had, the parents are in agreement to no “devices” in any future trips. All the children actually interacted with each other, their parents, nature and llamas! I highly recommend to all families that read this to enjoy the peace that you can only achieve from enjoying what this beautiful planet has to offer and to do so without iPhones, iPads, etc.Thank you John for reminding us what it was like to grow up without devices and just enjoying the outdoors with the ones we love.
